Overview

Taskworld is a project and task management tool, designed to help executives, managers, team leaders and even freelancers to manage projects and tasks in an easy, flexible and visual way.

1. The team's early design process, from problem definition, research methods utilisation to prototype creation and test

2. Growth and career progression of our designers (Intern, Junior and Mid-weight)

3. Championing Design Sprint and Design Thinking methods in our ways of work, thinking and collaboration with other squads

4. Setting up the foundation for measuring feature ROI, UX conversion and customer churn rates

The question to us was how might we (As a team) make collaboration more fun, expressive, engaging and delightful given there are better options in the market that provide better features and integrations. So a few of us sat together with team leads from the product, customer success, engineering and marketing to envision a plan.

It wasn't too long till we realized that 3 of Taskworld's most requested features have been overlooked, parked aside and labelled as 'later features'. These are of high value and a change maker to how our customers work, and so bringing these to life becomes an important mission for the team.

Time Tracking

This is Taskworld's most requested feature by far during my time with the team. This has brought forth value and a positive impact on how our customers collaborate with their teams. This new tool saves time, resources and makes it easier for managers to work with freelancers or consultants, record time spent on a software bug fix, anticipate project deadlines— the applications are endless.

2 designers were assigned to this. The majority of my work occurred in the latter part, where I was responsible for ensuring overall usability and interaction are well tested with our customers and documented (behaviour, test metrics and feature success rates) before release.

Project Templates

This feature provides a quick start guide for many of our new customers, and this takes the guesswork out of managing projects.

The early discovery phase with our beta users pointed to us some popular templates that could be added to the first release. Within the first week of release, we have a recorded high usage for each of these individual templates. Here they are - The weekday template, the single team template, the departments template and the kanban template.

Reactions

Reactions are probably one of the most prominent visual communication languages that make people feel seen, heard and valued.

This is one feature that elevates Taskworld's many projects and task engagement activities, allowing teams to connect more than ever, to make work fun and even celebrate a team member's achievements and accomplishments.

Create, build and measure

We use Hotjar to set funnel and heatmap activities, that'll allow UX designers to analyse, device improvements to product journeys and the product's experience output.
